Shawna has led an interesting and challenging life, one filled with both high accomplishment and demoralizing devastation. Escaping poverty, she enlisted in the Navy out of high school in the Nuclear Power Program, helping to run a naval nuclear reactor, earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree, has had a career in the sciences and technology, has taught English in Japan and is a polymath. She has also completed half-marathons and a half-Iron Man.
